Is it really already the 1st of November? It is starting to look and feel like November outside though. Yesterday was the first day I was freezing outside and I think it is really time to find my winter jacket soon. Even though I really don't like to be cold, there is also something magical about this season. Warm sweaters and socks, blankets, all the tea in the world, cozying up in the house on rainy days, pumpkins, and did I say pumpkins?!

But, one thing I am sad about is to say goodbye to easy peasy smoothies for breakfast. I mean, you can still make them but when the house is all cold in the morning, the last thing my body craves is a cold smoothie.

Then one day we were like, can't we make warm smoothies? Oh yes! We created three smoothies that you can serve either warm or cold. We blended everything first and then heated it up in a small pan. You can probably also do it the other way around, but we thought this made the most sense I guess. These smoothies are based on cashews, since we thought warming up a fruit-based smoothie was maybe not the best idea (or is it? Somebody tell me).
These drinks are so good though. I would choose this combination of hot chocolate with coconut whipped cream over any other I've had in my life. The vanilla latte is subtle, sweet and very creamy and the mocha smoothie is my personal favorite. I love to drink this one in the morning to wake me up.
Yay for warm smoothies in the winter!

Warm Mocha smoothie
For 1 drink
Base

Coconut whipped cream
2 tbsp of full fat coconut milk (placed in the fridge for at least 1 hour) *
Blend the ingredients for the base + the mocha flavor in a blender. Add the drink to a small pan and warm up the mixture. Open the can of coconut milk and scoop out the solid part*. Whip up the coconut cream. Add the drink to a cup and top with the coconut cream.
