We have shared a turmeric latte here before. We love the frothy, warm and flavourful drink and it has been the reason many of our blankets and bed sheets are stained with a yellow turmeric colour… Oops. But we notice that we drink turmeric lattes mostly during the winter, because during the summer, warm frothy drinks somehow don’t fit. In summer we do not need to have turmeric stained blankets to keep us warm, we need something that cools us down.

This iced drink reminds me of a summer long ago, when chai lattes just started to be a thing where we lived and we spend our time drinking blended iced chai lattes and found that by sitting in a cafe we were ‘studying’. Not much has changed, except now we don’t need to study and make our own drinks. I prefer the turmeric kind over the sugary version, especially because it still tastes nice and sweet because of the maple syrup and the date.
If you want to make a blended iced turmeric chai, you can also add all ingredients including ice cubes to the blender to make a frozen version of this drink. We prefer both, but love how the colours change when you slowly pour the milk over the turmeric blend.

Turmeric iced tea latte
1/2 tsp Ground ginger
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
2 tsp Maple syrup
1 Date
1 tsp Turmeric
½ cup sun tea (cold brew tea)
1 tsp coconut oil
½ tsp black pepper
1 cup plant milk
Ice cubes (add as many as you want!)
Blend the ginger, cinnamon, maple, date, turmeric, sun tea, coconut oil and black pepper together. Fill a cup with ice cubes and add the turmeric blend. Pour the plant milk over the mixture and enjoy.
